Over the summer EIG sponsored the clean up of Vannholmarna island in the Göteborg archipelago in Sweden. Like many islands along the coast, Vannholmar suffers from rubbish drifting in from the Channel. 



The not-for-profit association Västkustens Vänner and their team of volunteers undertook a thorough cleaning of Vannholmarna on August 7th. 



The island was restituted to all its original spleandour and cleanliness, and the sponsorship by Energy Invest will ensure that this remains the case for the next 12 months. As a reward for all their hard work the participating youths won tickets to Havets Grand Prix, a tour event of the Powerboat P1 World Championship which took place in Gotenburg that weekend

 
Energy Invest also celebrated its ecological  initiative by sponsoring the Speedcat boats - powered by Aspen ethanol fuel - giving passenger rides to children and adolescents during the event. The city of Göteborg is very much at the forefront of the green movement, on both land and water, and Energy Invest seized the opportunity to draw attention to its commitment to clean energy sources and sustainable technologies.
